FAQ

81a Store is an independent online store with a considered curation of lifestyle goods, handmade homewares and thoughtful gifts inspired by small makers and lasting design.

We welcome onboard deep rooted & innovative independent brands and their products, that have been consciously designed to bring function and attraction to the home and everyday living, with lesser impact to our surroundings.

Our belief is that the pieces you welcome into your home should resonate with you in some way, last a lifetime and become apart of everyday uses within your routine. All while shopping mindfully and supporting makers in the process.

Our packaging is plastic free wherever possible. Packing peanuts used in your order dissolve with water.

We have made our best efforts to make your shopping experience with us less impactful on the planet.

It is not uncommon for us to reuse plastic free packaging we have received our goods in from our makers.

All orders are carefully selected and hand-wrapped by us from our teeny studio in Manchester, UK.

81a Store is a platform producing its own original content showcasing the small makers they work with.

We meet required wholesale prices and MOQ [minimum order quantity] set by each individual maker.

Under no circumstances do we rush orders or require quick turnarounds to benefit us. We encourage our makers to each set their own lead times, which can sometimes be up to 8 weeks.

It is important to us that each maker feels valued and supported. We strive to uphold our ethos and values and it’s important to us to maintain our glowing internal feedback from our makers.

At 81a Store we carefully source functional, well-made, lasting creative goods with a focus on supporting makers and designers in the process.

We intentionally keep our line-up of makers compact, offering a small but perfectly selected range of products.

Our products are sourced responsibly directly through our makers and brands. Many of our makers use processes, materials and methods which are less impactful, less wasteful and more considerate to our surroundings.

We often join hands with our makers to create exclusive & collaborative pieces.

With a focus to reduce over production and waste, these pieces are individually crafted in small batches within the UK.
